Your Body Mass Index (BMI) measures your weight in relation to your height and gender to determine if you are within a healthy weight range. Although we all naturally come in different shapes and sizes and there are certain limitations to the Body Mass Index calculations (such as being pregnant or guidelines for different ethnic groups), it is the simplest and most-widely recognised method of assessing an individual’s weight. If you are worried in anyway by your BMI result, please consult your family doctor for detailed advice.
